Reliable, long-lasting LITHIUM-ION power is just one part of a full feature set.
M12 Lithium-Ion Power: Compact, Lightweight, and Dependable
Cordless power frees you from the cost and waste of disposable batteries and the hassle of setting up and using manual tools, but a cordless tool is only as reliable as its battery--that's where M12 LITHIUM-ION batteries come in. You can trust the 1.4-amp-hour lithium-ion battery that powers each Milwaukee M12 tool to deliver long runtimes and fade-free power. Lithium-ion batteries will also offer long battery life, so you'll save money by avoiding replacements.

Since lithium-ion batteries are significantly smaller and lighter than competitive NiCad batteries, they play an integral role in making Milwaukee's compact M12 tools ergonomic, comfortable to use, and easy to maneuver while you work.

Plus the M12 LITHIUM-ION battery charger delivers fast, 30-minute recharges, so you can be sure that your tools will be ready to use when you reach for them.

Fast becomign a Milwaukee Fan

Reviewer: Dave,
I purchased the 1/4" hex chuck driver a while back and can't say enough good things about it. When I saw this slightly beefier cordless drill from Milwaukee in the same product family I couldn't wait to get it. It's a great size for light duty work. I like the 3/8" chuck because finding a drill bit with a 1/4" hex shank for the other non spade bit drivers that produces a hole larger than 1/4" is not as easy. Having a higher speed range for drilling and having the clutch are also pluses above the basic driver. I have a Bosch 1/2" 18v hammer drill for heavy duty jobs but it's WAY too much drill for light jobs around the house. This Milwaukee drill/driver is a great intermediary range tool. The trigger pull is smooth and consistent and makes controlling the speed of the drill easy, the clutch has enough range to handle plenty of diverse needs and the size is very convenient to have in a holster if you're working on a ladder or wearing it on a tool belt all day. The life of the lithium ion batteries is great and the recharge is pretty quick at 30 or so minutes. The battery technology has clearly come a ways from my old DeWalt 18v NiCd setup. (which was stolen and is the reason I branched out to different systems such as the Bosch and the Milwaukee) The only down side I can find on this drill (and the 1/4" hex driver as well) is that when I'm using the drill in reverse, my index finger on my right hand tends to hit the "forward" button. It's not a large problem, just something I have to consciously think about when using it in reverse. That's a large hands issue though, not really a fault of the drill.
Compact power that lasts all day

This little wonder is a great jobsite drill/driver. It's small and light enough to fit in a tool-belt bag. The battery has enough charge so that the two it comes with last the whole day, with plenty left over. It has plenty of power for most home-building jobs short of driving lag bolts, and the little headlight is great for setting screws in dark recesses.

My only complaint is that the various manufacturers of similar tools didn't standardize their battery packs, so pick the brand that has the right combination of other tools for the work you do.
Great tool

Even though I got this at Home Depot instead of Amazon (sorry, Amazon) this is a great tool and I think is destined to become one of my favorites. The size is right and it is quite powerful for a small drill. I needed it to drill some holes in a rather confined space and this worked well.
M12 3/8" Drill/Driver, a Solid Choice

I just received this Milwaukee M12 drill and am very pleased with its quality and performance to date. All features (chuck, clutch, transmission, trigger, light, etc.) work very well. It is heavier than most other drills this size but still clearly lighter than my 14.4V 1/2" Dewalt Nicad drill. It will work well on smaller jobs and even some big ones. The hard case is of very high quality. I am happy with this purchase and recommend this Milwaukee drill to anyone in search of a solid 3/8" cordless drill.
Nice Product so far

I just purchased this product a few days ago, and so far it has met all of my expectations. It is typical Milwaukee, like all my other Milwaukee tools. My DeWalt 1/2 cordless impact drill/driver is starting to have brush issues, seemingly somewhat prematurely, although it did work well so far. I decided on the smaller Milwaukee 3/8" drill/driver after seeing that nice little rapid charging lithium battery pack at Home Depot one day. It won't replace the 1/2" vibrating drill needs, but rather fill a gap when a smaller light weight job comes up. Besides, I can get out the corded Makita for that anyway... If this tool turns out like the 2 sawsalls, portable band saw, drywall driver, 2 circular saws, dovetail jig, etc... This will be a great tool.
